Someone built a desk buoy that rides the real ocean's waves in Bermuda ๐ #arduino #esp32projects
by SeaGlance
A small yellow buoy hangs on 8 fishing lines, each pulled by its own stepper motor. An ESP32 downloads live wave data from real ocean buoys (NOAA, CDIP, Irish and Belgian networks) and plays their motion back on a desk: when the sea is stormy it rocks and tilts, when it's calm it barely moves. CDIP buoys send their measured motion, replayed wave for wave. A small display shows the buoy's name and wave height. More at seaglance.eu
